AEM O-rings are commonly used for sealing materials in high temperature environments, up to 180 ° C. AEM O-rings have high temperature resistance. Characteristics of AEM O-rings
Advantages of AEM O-rings: good cold resistance, excellent ozone resistance, good weather resistance, good heat aging resistance, excellent compression permanent deformation resistance.

Disadvantages: Poor resistance to fuel C, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, non-mineral brake fluids, esters, ketones and gasoline.

AEM rubber is divided into binary rubber and ternary rubber, binary rubber is composed of ethylene (E)/methyl acrylate (MA), ternary rubber is composed of E/MA/monomer (CS) providing vulcanization position. Binary rubber can only be cured by peroxide, and ternary rubber can be cured by amine vulcanizing agent because it contains a third monomer that provides the vulcanization position. When the cable is continuously vulcanized by high-pressure steam, ternary rubber can also be cured by peroxide. Therefore, AEM rubber has excellent high temperature resistance, heat resistance of mineral oil, hydraulic oil, weather resistance and low temperature performance, but is not resistant to low aniline oil and polar solvents.

Measured by a 50% reduction in elongation at break,AEM O-rings can be used continuously at 120 ° C for 18 months and at 170 ° C for 6 weeks. The heat aging performance of AEM O-rings is much better than that of chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber (CSM) and NBR.

AEM O-rings have good resistance to ATF(automotive automatic steering fluid), gear oil, ethylene glycol/water mixture, diesel and kerosene, but poor resistance to fuel C, phosphate ester hydraulic fluid, non-mineral brake fluid, ester, ketone and gasoline.

AEM are more resistant to cold than ACM, can be used at -40 ° C, and can remain soft at lower temperatures if appropriate plasticizers are added.

▲Resistance to compression and permanent deformation
The AEM ternary adhesive vulcanized with amine vulcanizing agent has excellent compression permanent deformation resistance, and under the condition of 170℃×70h, the compression permanent deformation is less than 20%, and peroxide vulcanization can also be used. The long-term compressive permanent deformation test shows that AEM O-rings have excellent compressive permanent deformation resistance, and the terpolymer rubber seals have the same compressive permanent deformation resistance as HNBR.

In addition, the AEM ternary rubber has excellent flexural resistance, and the flexural life is greater than 250,000 times at 100 ° C, but the flexural resistance of the binary rubber is slightly worse. The dynamic performance of AEM is also better, and the shock absorption performance at high temperature is close to that of IIR.

AEM O-rings are mainly used for powertrain seals and gaskets, rocker cover seals, transmission oil cooling hoses, power steering hoses, turbocharger hoses, crankcase vent lines, fuel and refrigerant hose outer layers, O-rings, spark plug protective covers and crankshaft dust covers.Thanks to these properties, AEM O-rings can be used well in many industries.
