The hydraulic support ring may not be the most glamorous component in a hydraulic system, but it plays a critical role in ensuring that other seals and components function optimally. Support rings are made of filled polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and are designed to provide additional support and resistance to crushing pressure for the piston or rod of a hydraulic or pneumatic cylinder.
