What are anti-aging rubber seals?

Anti-aging rubber seal is a rubber seal with anti-aging properties that can maintain its sealing performance and elasticity during long-term use and exposure to adverse environmental conditions. Special rubber materials and processes are often used to improve its durability and resistance to external factors.

Types

  • Fluorine rubber sealing ring: Fluorine rubber has excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, oil resistance, and oxidation resistance, and is suitable for harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure, and high speed.
  • Silicone rubber sealing ring: Silicone rubber has excellent high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance and other properties, and is suitable for various harsh environments.
  • PTFE sealing ring: PTFE has excellent properties such as high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, oil resistance, and oxidation resistance, and is suitable for harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure, and high speed.
  • Nitrile rubber sealing ring: Nitrile rubber has excellent oil resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance and other properties, and is suitable for various oils, chemicals and other media.
  • Hydrogenated nitrile rubber sealing ring: Hydrogenated nitrile rubber has excellent oil resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance and other properties, and is suitable for various oils, chemicals and other media.
  • Acrylic rubber sealing ring: Acrylic rubber has excellent oil resistance, corrosion resistance, aging resistance and other properties, and is suitable for various oils, chemicals and other media.
  • Chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber sealing ring: Chlorosulfonated polyethylene rubber has excellent aging resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties, and is suitable for various harsh environments.
Chlorinated polyether rubber sealing ring: Chlorinated polyether rubber has excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance and other properties, and is suitable for harsh environments such as high temperature and high pressure.

The above are common types of anti-aging rubber seals. Each type has its specific applicable environment and medium. The appropriate type can be selected according to actual needs.

Advantage

  • Excellent anti-aging performance: fluorine rubber, silicone rubber, polytetrafluoroethylene, etc. have excellent high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, oil resistance, oxidation resistance and other properties, and can be used for a long time in harsh environments to ensure the sealing performance and service life of the sealing ring.
  • Good wear resistance: Anti-aging rubber sealing rings generally have good wear resistance and can maintain a long service life during use.
Good elasticity: Anti-aging rubber sealing rings usually have good elasticity, can adapt to various complex-shaped surfaces, and can closely fit the surface to ensure the sealing effect.
  • Chemical corrosion resistance: For some chemical media, anti-aging rubber sealing rings can resist their corrosion, thereby protecting the equipment from damage.
  • Good electrical insulation: Some anti-aging rubber sealing rings have good electrical insulation and are suitable for occasions that require electrical insulation.

Shortcoming

Higher cost: Some anti-aging rubber sealing ring materials have a higher cost, so the cost of the entire sealing ring will also increase accordingly.
Difficulty in processing: Anti-aging rubber sealing rings may be difficult to process and require advanced processing equipment and technology to complete.
Inapplicable to some media: Although the anti-aging rubber seal ring has good corrosion resistance, it may still be inapplicable to some special media.
High installation requirements: Anti-aging rubber seals require special attention when installing. Improper installation may affect its sealing effect and service life.

To sum up, anti-aging rubber sealing rings have the advantages of excellent anti-aging properties, good wear resistance, good elasticity, chemical corrosion resistance and good electrical insulation, but they also have higher costs, difficult processing, and are not suitable for certain applications. Disadvantages include unsuitable media and high installation requirements. The selection and use need to be evaluated and selected according to the specific situation.
