About O-Ring Splicing Kit

Standard and metric O-ring splicing kit is available in a variety of materials, hardnesses and profiles. As with all spliced O-rings, they are suitable for static applications. Field spliced O-rings can be used as a temporary sealing solution.

How to Splice O-Rings

To begin assembling the O-ring, use the following instructions as a guide:

1. Wrap the wire into the space where the final O-ring will sit. Mark an additional mark on the wire 0.5 inch after the initial letter. Alternatively, if you know the O-ring diameter, multiply that value by 3.14 to retrieve the cutting length required for the initial mark (and a secondary mark 0.5 inches after the initial mark).

2. Pass the wires through the corresponding circular cross-section holes on the splicing fixture, aligning the auxiliary marks with the fixture opening.

3. Use the blade to cut through the middle of the clamp. The distance between the clamp opening and the middle is 0.5 inches, which is why auxiliary marks are placed on the rope for guidance.

4. Apply adhesive to only one end surface. Less than one drop is enough. NOTE: Adding too much adhesive will weaken the bond.

5. Using the grooved side of the splicing jig, slide the treated wire ends into the corresponding cross-section grooves. Then carefully slide the untreated end from the other side of the groove until the ends meet.

6. Press gently with your fingers and hold this position for 30 seconds. Do not twist the power cord.

7. Upon completion, the spliced O-rings should be available for repair.

Characteristics

1. Various material choices: O-ring splicing kit usually provide a variety of materials to choose from, including silicone, rubber, etc., to meet the sealing needs of different working conditions and media.

2. Cross-sectional size: The kit contains O-ring wires with multiple cross-sectional sizes, so you can easily select the appropriate size for splicing.

3. Splicing clamp: The splicing clamp in the kit is specially designed to firmly fix the two O-ring wires together to ensure the sealing performance of the splicing.

4. Cutting blade: The special cutting blade can easily cut the O-ring wire into the required length, ensuring that the size of the spliced O-ring is accurate.

5. Fast-curing adhesive: The kit also provides fast-curing adhesive, which can easily bond the cut O-ring wires together to achieve a tight sealing effect.

6. Step-by-step instructions cards: The kit contains step-by-step instructions cards, which provide clear splicing steps and operation guides to facilitate users to get started quickly.

Applications

O-ring splicing kit is widely used in many fields, including but not limited to:

1. Mechanical equipment: In various mechanical equipment, O-ring splicing kits are often used to seal holes, grooves, etc. to prevent liquid or gas leakage. For example, in hydraulic cylinders, oil cylinders, cylinders, etc., O-ring splicing kits are used to seal the gaps between various components to ensure the normal operation of the equipment. In addition, it protects mechanical equipment from damage from the external environment.

2. Automobile industry: In the automobile industry, splicing kits are mainly used for sealing of engines, transmissions, reducers and other components. They can prevent fluids such as lubricants and fuel from leaking, and they can also prevent dust, moisture, etc. from entering the interior of the car.

3. Aerospace: In the aerospace field, O-ring kits are widely used because of their good sealing performance and high temperature and low temperature resistance. They are used to seal key parts such as fuel systems and hydraulic systems to ensure the safety and stability of the aircraft.

4. Chemical industry: In the chemical industry, splicing kit O-rings are used to seal various chemical reactors, storage tanks and other equipment. They resist corrosion and erosion from chemicals, thus protecting equipment from damage.

O-ring splicing kit is widely used, not only for static sealing and dynamic sealing, but also for shock absorption, sound insulation, etc. Its excellent performance and wide range of applications make it an indispensable part of many industrial production and maintenance processes.
